Pacific Passport Sample Pack
Three islands. Three chemotypes. One bag to strain them with.
Kava isn't one flavor or one feeling. A shell of Vanuatu doesn't taste like a shell of Fijian, and neither one hits like Tongan. The Pacific Passport puts all three of our premium powders side by side so you can stop reading descriptions and start comparing them in your own kitchen — with the strainer bag included, so there's nothing else to buy.
What's inside
Premium Vanuatu Kava Powder
Select cultivar blend — Santo Island Borogu and Melo Melo · Chemotype 243/245 · ~5.5% kavalactones - Smooth, creamy, lightly peppery, physically sedating. This is our house kava, the one we've served at our Northern California kava bars for over a decade. Hand-selected peeled basal stumps from plants of at least five years, which is where the creaminess comes from. If you want to know what a good daily drinker tastes like, start here.
Premium Fijian Kava Powder
Single origin estate blend — Matakaro Balavu, Qila Leka, Doko Bana Vula · Chemotype 462 · ~6% kavalactones - Grown in the volcanic soil of Taveuni, Fiji's "Garden Island." Half waka lateral roots, half peeled lewena basal stumps, and free of the kasa, divi divi, and cut piece that get blended into most powdered Fijian exports. That's why it tastes clean and delivers the cerebral, well-balanced "Fijian feel" people chase. Stronger than most kava sold as pure waka.
Premium Tongan Kava Powder
Single origin cultivar — Leka Hina · Chemotype 423/426 · ~5.9% kavalactones - From 'Eua, a small island producing some of the finest kava in the South Pacific in very limited quantity. A single cultivar from a single small farm estate, heavy on lateral roots. Traditional, creamy, smooth, and strong — the most balanced mental-and-physical of the three.
Kava Strainer Bag
8" x 10" oval, double-stitched, custom-made for us. Woven to let the right particle size through while holding all the fiber back. FDA approved for food use, BPA free, and washable. No more nylons or t-shirts.
Why these three
Same grade, same standards, three completely different plants. Vanuatu leans into the body. Fiji leans into the head. Tonga sits in the middle and does both. Line them up over a week and you'll learn more about your own preference than any review can tell you — and you'll know exactly which half pound to reorder.
Every lot is third-party lab tested for kavalactone content, heavy metals, and microbials, with results published. We've been doing that since 2013. All three are noble varieties, beverage grade, milled in an FDA-registered cGMP facility and shipped to us fresh.
How to drink it
Knead the powder in the strainer bag in warm — not hot — water for three to five minutes, wring it out, and drink it on a relatively empty stomach. Wait fifteen minutes before deciding whether you want a second shell.
