We innovated the Kava industry's first commercially available Beverage Grade CO2 kava extract in 2012 utilizing our own proprietary methodology. Our goal was to make a safe, standardized, full spectrum kava extract product that could be used in a variety of applications. At that time there was only one company producing CO2 Extracted Kava and it was 60% Kavalactones and a 254 Non-Beverage Grade Chemotype, produced from Papua New Guinea Kava.  Using our proprietary CO2 extraction parameters, we are able to produce commercial quantities of 70% standardized Kavalactone extract from Vanuatu Borogu Lateral Roots, without the use of solvents or heat to get the kavalactones as they naturally occur in the plant; pure, unaltered, raw.

Not all Kava Extracts are created equal! We have been in the Kava business for many years and have seen many Kava products come and go. Our Polynesian Gold® lineup of Kava extract powders, oils, and liquids, are by far the highest quality Kava products to be found anywhere, bar none. Learn the difference between Polynesian Gold® brand Kava extracts that are produced by experts in the Kava industry, and the cheap, mass produced, poor quality Kava extracts found elsewhere.

Our quality starts with root selection. We use hand selected, premium Beverage Grade Vanuatu Borogu Lateral roots to make our Kava extracts, not leftover scraps peelings and chips or undesirable cultivars such as “Tudei” or “Waeld” Kavas. Our Kava is then thoroughly washed and hand peeled in a state of the art facility before being air dried indoors, rather than being exposed to the elements to be sun dried. Air drying preserves the Kavalactones while the UV rays and heat from the sun degrades them.

Our proprietary processing technology achieves full spectrum potency like no other method on the market today. Even if quality roots are used as starting material, improper solvent selection, temperature, and extraction time, can drastically change the quality, and even safety profile of Kava. With our unique processing methods, we are able to achieve a full spectrum extract that retains the chemotype of our premium starting material and provides unparalleled water solubility found in no other powdered kava extract! 

Quality through lab testing. Each batch of Polynesian Gold® extracts are rigorously tested and must meet extremely strict quality controls before the Polynesian Gold brand name is bestowed upon the product.  We test our materials for microbiological, heavy metals, pesticides, as well as Kavalactone content. Not only do we test the total kavalactone content, but we test each individual Kavalactone to ensure that the chemical profile of our extract is of a desirable Beverage Grade chemotype. The result is a consistent, high quality standardized kava product that represents the very best kava of Beverage Grade Kava.
